Första advent

 
Idag är det första advent! Vi firade med croissantfrukost och julstrumporna kom på. St Hilda's julgran lyser vackert i hallen, och nu börjar det riktigt kännas att julen närmar sig. Ikväll ska jag se till att komma ikapp med helgens plugg, och nu är det bara en vecka kvar av terminen!

Today's the first of advent. We celebrate every Sunday up until Christmas, and I'm doing my best over here, where they don't understand the concept of saffron in buns and ginger bread cookies that are not spicy. We had croissants for breakfast and I'm wearing my reindeer socks. St Hilda's christmas tree shines bright and makes the hall cosy, and I can really feel Christmas drawing near. Tonight my aim is to get up to date with some work that has piled up over the weekend, and in just a week, my first term in Oxford is over!
